Educating women about menstruation is a step forward in bringing within themselves a sense of pride.

Pinkishe foundations had an interactive session with the women and girls of Mandawali. The beneficiaries considered it a matter of shame rather than pride. This was because nobody had ever spoken to them about periods before. Pinkishe focused on making them understand that it is a normal body process and nothing to be ashamed of. The taboos and myths related to periods were also discussed and they were told the facts behind this.

Through this interaction, we found that it is just the lack of awareness about different aspects of menstruation that makes it impure or something to be ashamed of. Such sessions will surely bring a positive change in their mindset and it will help our women reach great heights. This session was a great success.
