Jyoti (name changed) in her late adolescence had no idea about Menstruation nor its process and challenges. On one fine day at school, she noticed blood stains on her undergarment. Scared and confused about what this might be, she ran to her teachers. They said "Your monthly cycles have begun" and asked her to go home.

Jyoti recalled this panic-stricken incident at a 'Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Camp' conducted by Pinkishe Foundation in Ram Katori Varshaney Inter College, Awas Vikas, Aligarh on 19th December 2022.

She thanked our facilitator, Ms. Saloni who explained the process of menstruation and the importance of menstrual hygiene. She showed various sanitary products, explained their usage, and demonstrated how to discard them properly. Jyoti found the camp quite helpful. She said “These camps will guide many girls and they won't panic as I did during my "first-period experience."

The college principal Mrs. Seema Gupta encouraged student participation and ensured trouble-free completion of the drive.
