Free Sanitary Pad Donation & Menstrual Literacy Workshop | Kolkata

Pinkishe Foundation organised a Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Session and Pad Donation camp at Snehakunj, Arunima Hospice, Kolkata on 14th September. It's an orphanage and it was heartbreaking to know that some of these girls abandoned by their families only because they were HIV positive.

It was an interactive session where there was open discussion about healthy menstrual practices along with distribution of sanitary pads. The facilitator had a good experience interacting with enthusiastic girls who had a lot of questions like why demon (disfigured child) is born, what is white discharge, why some ladies can not become mother and many more.

The session was conducted by Mrs. Anindita Choudhury. Swapna Duttaghosh a volunteer was also present.
