Sakhi Project in Meerut

Block - Sardhana, Meerut

On 30th April, BRGs of Sardhana block, Ms Monika Malik and Ms Renu Chawla, imparted Menstrual hygiene training to 50 teachers of about 47 schools in their block. It was a very interactive session. Ms Poonam Rana, SRG with Basic Shiksha Vibhag and Sakhi project coordinator of Pinkishe Foundation, encouraged teachers to keep the menstrual hygiene workshop with girls more friendly rather than turning it into a classroom teaching session. All the teachers listened attentively and also shared their experiences of the first period. These teachers further gave training to about 1800 girls of class 6th to 8th studying in their school in Sardhana block. Free whisper choice ultra pads were also distributed to every girl by P&G. We got wonderful responses from the teachers and students. It was a wholesome experience for each and every person present in the session. Pinkishe foundation looks forward to many such collaborations in the future to bring about necessary changes in society.
