The onset of periods in girls can be at different times of puberty. Some may start puberty a little earlier or later than others, but this results in mental distress for some girls due to their lack of awareness.

"I'm 14, and I still don't have my period Yet. Is this normal? Everyone in my class has had their periods except for me only. Is something wrong with my body? Am I sick?" says Mishti(name changed)

Pinkishe Foundation aims to make girls aware of the best hygiene practices and sustainable disposal methods to manage their periods better and assist them in understanding puberty.

To achieve this aim Ms.Palakshi Sathe from Pinkishe Foundation conducted a menstrual literacy awareness drive at Shindewadi Municipal Secondary School, Wadala, Mumbai, Maharashtra, on 27 January 2023 and positively impacted the minds of young girls.
