PinkisheFoundation Covid19 LockdownSeries (Episode 6)

Amidst lockdown, 20 village girls of Baropaik Gaon, 20 kms from Jorhat town, Assam were in dire need of sanitary pads. They were not left with any supply of this necessary stuff that prompted one of those girls, Priyanka Dutta to approach SP Jorhat Sri Mrinal Talukdar.

He immediately contacted and requested our Assam Branch President Ms Sumita Bandyopadhyay to help those village girls.

Pinkishe Foundation always stands for the cause of menstrual hygiene. We regularly donate free reusable sanitary pads and conduct menstrual hygiene awareness camps for underprivileged females all over India under our Padbank program (https://www.pinkishe.org/padbank).

Understanding the situation, Ms Sumita along with her husband Dr Tanoy Bandyopadhyay visited the village on April 18th, 2020.

She donated sanitary pads to those 20 girls. The girls felt happy with this gesture of Pinkishe. Post that, Ms. Sumita, took an awareness session on menstrual Hygiene and menstural Absorbents. They followed Social distancing everywhere and received full Local Police support throughout the drive.

After the camp, Priyanka thanked Pinkishe Foundation for coming to their rescue at these testing times.
